compassion in Crisis: Humanitarian Impact
FAWE Somalia’s Humanitarian Footprint
In the face of severe drought in Somalia in 2017, FAWE Somalia took swift action to address the urgent needs of displaced families, particularly women-headed households who lost their livelihoods. Our initiatives, in collaboration with UNDP Somalia's Gender Unit, provided immediate aid and support to those affected.
Our Approach: Resilience and Empowerment
By offering $300 grants to 100 female-headed households, we enabled families to restart businesses or restock their livestock, offering a pathway to self-sufficiency. Through tailored financial management and business training, we equipped beneficiaries with the tools needed to rebuild their lives and communities.
Impact and Urgent Need for Support
These efforts have significantly alleviated the immediate suffering of vulnerable communities, but the scale of the crisis demands further action. By partnering with us, donors and supporters can directly impact the lives of those affected by the ongoing crisis.
