FAWE Somalia’s Journey of Change

Our History

Founded in 2006, FAWE Somalia is a dynamic member of the FAwe netowrk, working tirelessly to empower girls and women through education and sustainable develppment. Our mission is rooted in the belief that educated women transform communities.

WE’ve grown from strength to strength, operating across regions in Somalia and Collaborating with other FAWE chapters in Africa.

Together we’re making a lasting impact on the lives of Somali girls and women, improving education, fostering economic empowerment, advancing environmental stewardship.

Our Mission

FAWE Somalia exists to optimize sustainable development among Somali communities by fostering positive gender-responsive policies and practices that empower women and girls.

Strategic Goal

To Contribute to attainment of self-reliance, lasting peace and socio-economic empowerment of women and girls in Somalia through humanitarian response, recovery and development initaitives.

FAWESOM became a reality due to generous contributions, tangible support and dedication of the Puntland Government, local Community, Donor community and the UN agencies.
